
Here's a great photo presentation from the BBC, showing how Camocim, a small traditional fishing village in north-east Brazil, is coping with modern developments such as tourism. The government has introduced a plan called "Barcos do Brasil" (Boats of Brazil), which will incorporate fishing life as part of the protected cultural heritage. Cool! Here's an interesting documentary-style look at the status of the Amazon Rainforest around Brazil. Although the past year has been an improvement in terms of preserving the rainforest, there's still a long way to go to properly minimize the amount of logging and deforestation and maintain the ecosystem. Definitely worth a watch...
